Staple it together and call it bad weather ...

In my last post I wrote about running in the rain and not seeing anybody out on a day that would have normally had the trails crowded if it would have been sunny. Today I ran across this quote on a running website.

"There's no such thing as bad weather, just soft people." - Bill Bowerman

Was Bill right? Those who chose not to run in the rain will get the last laugh if I am ever struck by lightning.

Hey Tommy, there is an expression here in NL that says "There is no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing." The people here are not soft - folks stand outside in hard rain to have conversations with their neighbors and ride their bikes in sub-freezing temps. Weather is the last thing that would slow down the training schedule. Of course we don't have big thunderstorms here... Wes

Wes I actually prefer running in the rain. I ran my long run this morning in what most would consider to be perfect weather. Although it went pretty well the engine runs much hotter here in the sun than it does in the rain.It would be cool with me if it rained every Saturday morning.
